Here are some pieces we finished this week for Futurezoom, a new company specializing in online review management. If you’re looking to increase your online presence, take a look at their site, it’s a great idea.
We’re having company shirts silk-screened and will have them by the end of the month. They will price around $23 + $5 shipping and are American made (of course). The pics below are a rendition of how it’ll look. I’m also in the process of designing a new bar height table called Liberty. It’s pictured with some classic Emeco bar stools.

NYC gave us many new design and business ideas, always does. I started learning a little more CAD today and drew a couple ideas. Doesn’t have a name yet, but it uses C Channel, rivets and bolts as the basis and was inspired by some of the cities many bridges. Here are a couple color schemes, natural steel and an aged red. I added some Herman Miller Aeron chairs too.
Size pictured is 4′ x 8′ x 30″, and as usual, can be any size and customized. This table would price around $4500. I hope to have a real one built in the next couple months. If you can’t wait, your’s can be the first.
Here is the Liberty table. It’s a pedestal style base adorned with rivets and bracing. Would function great with a medium size round, square or rectangular top. Or use two bases for a larger top. This base alone would price around $2800, or with a 4′ x 6′ top (as pictured), around $4100.
We were invited by the DIY network to help with a show this week. It should air around Father’s Day. Some of our products and I will be on the Man Cave show as well as the Today Show (hopefully) on NBC. It’s been an exciting week, weather has been nice too. That’s finished and we’re in the city for the next couple days.

Here is a new sign our shop just finished. I got inspired by some NYC signs from back in the day and made a smaller scale version. This piece is 7 feet long and is made to hang on a wall, place on a table or even on a rooftop.
As always, this design can be customized to say whatever you want, and the size altered.

Really happy with how these two pieces came out. The Hure table is 10′ x 54″, has a walnut top, and was built as a community work table. The smaller piece is an Ellis nightstand. Been wanting to make this for myself for sometime! Now we have a couple bedroom pieces. Need to finish the bed next.
Here’s a new table style we have available which matches our Wright chairs and stools. The has an adjustable height which makes it work for counter and bar height. We also make this in dining to bar height. Available with a hardwood top as well as steel (pictured). As always, this is commercial quality, ready for everyday restaurant use. I’ve been wanting to create a dresser for some time now and that day has come. This is the Ellis Dresser which has 2 large drawers on the bottom, and two smaller ones up top. The sides are adorned with walnut slats, and the top has an aged walnut plank. I decided to put legs on this piece, although casters would be a good option especially if you want to move it around (it weighs about 350 lbs). This is the first of many different dresser configurations we’ll be making. As usual, it can be customized in many ways.

Every week I get calls and emails from people in a rush. At the moment we have an 8-12 week lead time for furniture, 2-4 weeks for casters. We’re busy which is good! If we weren’t, I’d have people sitting around doing nothing and that means layoffs or going out of business. I think America has gotten used to getting everything now, aka instant gratification. I know I have. The other day I waited for food at a restaurant for 45 minutes which seemed absurd at the moment.
I went to Ethan Allen recently. I’ve always loved their products and had a bedroom set from them for 25 years. Sold it for a pretty penny about 10 years ago! But they have the same lead time we do. They build to order, and do it in America and that is awesome! Almost everything I do is custom in some way so I can’t keep stock as everybody wants it “their way” as Burger King would say. With some large orders on the horizon, we’re going to be expanding the shop soon, once again. I’m considering taking on investors to help this business take off faster. My parter / wife Sim and I have at least 30 more products we want to bring to life, everything from art to garden to kitchen to lighting. But we have no time at the moment as we’re fulfilling orders. Eventually we’re looking to make this a lifestyle brand. It’ll happen, we just need to be patient. Ralph Lauren and Martha Stewart didn’t happen over night…

Just shipped these 2 tables out. The French Column table has a 4′ riveted steel top. And the I Beam conference table has a 12′ aged sugar pine top and riveted trim. It weighs around half a ton.

Here’s some pics of some pieces in the shop right now. We’re working on an Ellis Dresser. It’s close to finished, just needs some wood sides and a top. Will have finished pictures soon. The second and third pics are an 8 door Ellis. It’s one of the bigger Ellis consoles we’ve made. And finally some stools for a bar.
Seems everybody is on the reclaimed bandwagon. I am all for reusing materials and recycling. But you might question where they get their supposedly reclaimed products. The ones I’ve used in the past have all had stories behind them. Like the mahogany that was retrieved from an old New Mexico schoolhouse built in 1918. One vendor who seems to be copying several of my designs has that “recycled” claim and I am quite positive they are new materials. Most recycled material comes with some sort of proof. Just food for thought. ..
I wanted to give a big thanks to the crew at VI for a job well done! Our first install at Lamb and Flag went through without a hitch. Our crew worked lots of over time, some a double shift, to get it all done. I think I worked a triple shift last week.
We took a much needed break to celebrate and had a bowl off. Gratz to Gabe for winning the tournament! L&F is opening up the first store around December 19th in Brea, California at the Brea Mall so be sure to check it out. And there are many more stores to follow. The space is absolutely stunning, be sure to check it out, and their clothing is very cool too.
We get a couple days break, then back to work on several new big projects many new designs. We are booked up 8-12 weeks right now and are thinking of expanding the shop once again to get our lead time down some. Might have a showroom too in the near future. And we’re going to be published in several other magazines with hopes of some national attention, and maybe a reality TV show, oh boy. Yes we’re on fire here!
I started off building all metal furniture. Didn’t know much about metal, and really didn’t know much about wood. But I learned, and my wife pushed me in the right direction which was to add some wood to my pieces. Below are a couple tops we did within the last week.
This one is cherry wood and 12′ 6″ long. I used to think cherry was for Gramas and Grandpas , but I love it!! Maybe I’m getting old? The color and grain is amazing. First cherry top we ever did:
This walnut top is quite striking. The middle plank is around 18″ wide which is hard to find, and the coloration is awesome. It’s going on a Hure desk with a matching return:
