Vintage Industrial Ironworker Shelving Unit

By | bookcase, shelving | One Comment

We had a client that needed to fill a wall with shelving. So we decided to use our Ironworker design, and build 3 separate shelves that bolt together to make one large one. The piece has 7 dark stained sugar pine shelves, almost 600 rivets, a rust patina on the steel, and is my new favorite shelf! If you are interested in one, we build these to order and can make them in any size.

Dimensions: 8′ Tall x 8′ 9″ Wide x 14.5″ Deep
Priced around $5700

Vintage Industrial Kitchen Island

By | commercial furniture, kitchen island | 2 Comments

A couple months back we had a chef approach us looking for some kitchen islands. We decided to use our Ellis design. They are similar in style, and mirrored on both sides. One has 2 doors on each side, some shelving in the center, and an overhanging top to work as a bar with our Wright stools. The other has 3 drawers per side, open storage underneath, and 2 enclosed storage bays under that. Each Ellis island (funny how it came out that way) has GFCI outlets on one side with wiring routed down to the ground. These are finished with 4 heavy duty locking casters, and aged sugar pine tops. Weight is somewhere around half a ton each, ya they are heavy!

Our Lead Time & Sale Items

We’re done moving, and as usual it took twice as long as planned. We’ve also expanded our workforce and our lead time is now 2-4 weeks at the moment. I’ve been hoping to lower it since 2009 and it’s finally happened! Let us know if you have rush orders and we’ll see what we can do.

Mid-Century Modern Caster Wheels

By | caster wheels, furniture | One Comment

Here’s a custom set of rigid casters I just made for a mid-century modern table. The handmade forks  are roughly polished and sealed with a durable satin coat. The cast iron wheels are painted satin black. Weight is around 10 lbs per caster. These are priced at $295 per set and you won’t find them anywhere else as I’ve looked. Non polished casters are $250/set.

I’ve had a guest furniture designer, Václav Jirásko of Jirásko Industries, staying with me for the last week. He flew in from the Czech republic just to visit. Here is his first creation that was made in America, the No. 11 coffee table. It has a rustic 1.5″ thick cedar top with extensive bracing and riveted legs. Dimensions are 28″ x 40″ x 19″ tall. It’s priced at $1,095 and is a one of a kind piece.

Vintage Industrial Train Trestle Side Table

Just finished a pair of these for a customer. The design is based on a european vintage piece. They are all steel, riveted together with a thick steel top and an aged rust finish. These would work well as side tables, outdoor tables, use a couple of the bases to hold a coffee or dining table top, or use as a display table for your pet elephant. These measure 22″ x 22″ x 24″ tall and weigh around 75 lbs each. I can make these in a variety of size, finishes, and use different materials for the tops. Prices are around $995 each.

Ironworker Media Console

My TV needed something under it so I decided on this French Industrial inspired design. The Ironworker Console Table, 48″ x 20″ x 32″ tall (custom sizes and finishes available), weighs around 200 lbs, on 5″ locking cast iron casters, a 50lbs steel riveted top, 124 rivets and 28 braces, aged sugar pine lower shelves, and a rust patina. It got it’s name in honor of the old time ironworkers who, back in the day, built things with pride to last. We can make this in many variations, sizes, finishes, enclose it, add drawers, chrome, copper or polished finish, etc. This would also make a nice kitchen island or worktable. Prices vary, but this size and finish runs $1,650.
