Here is a slightly altered Brooklyn design coffee table with heavier casters, aged hardwood, and an inset top. I already have plans for a completely new design based on old bridge architecture.

Here is a big console shelf I just finished for a client’s office. I managed to get some really big slabs of Honduran mahogany for the table and it came out pretty cool. It’s huge (70+ inches long and 18″ deep), weighed 130 lbs, and has 5 spoke casters on it.
I was recently contacted by an Indian company asking if I was interested in buying their furniture. The minimum order was a 20 foot container load. So I took at look at their catalog and was amazed at the prices. $100 for an end table that would take me a week to make. $225 for a dresser that would take me 2 weeks to make. I thought to myself, “holy shit, I should buy a container load and sell this stuff for dirt cheap!” I could even mark it up 300-500% and probably still sell it. But after some contemplation, I realized what a stupid idea it was. Over buying imported products has taken it’s toll on this country, as well as others. Some kid in India is probably working for $1 a day to make this stuff. And it’s fairly dangerous work too. I almost cut off my pinkie the other day. And I am very careful, poorer countries are far from that in my experience. And if I was to be selling this stuff, I’d be taking jobs away from other Americans like myself. I’ve been to just about all of the local industrial style furniture shops around town and many of them are selling these imports. And it looks pretty decent, but feels cheap to me, probably because they use thinner materials. A lot of the online retailers are doing the same thing. Hudson Goods is selling a cart that has the same picture from the Indian catalog. They use reclaimed wood too, but do I care if an India made table is made using reclaimed wood?
Kind of Ironically, I ended up hiring a European immigrant to help me out. He does great work, understands me, and the money stays in this country. Hey, it stays in this state! So if you care, you might ask the store “where does this come from?” Because odds are they took off the “Made in India / Thailand / Mexico / Indonesia / China” sticker. This might be my first political post, at least on this blog.
This is a new Industrial Dining Table design (Aug 2010). Prices start around $1,850, and I can customize this in many different ways.
Here are some pictures of a customer’s dining table and bench. Table measures 7.5′ x 3.5′ x 36″ tall and the bench is 61″ wide. Reminds me of a pub table I saw in London. The top is spruce with the Grandpa stain.
This vintage inspired 1940s French work desk offers simple, clean lines enhanced with side and back stylized diagonal supports. Solid and sturdy, the desk weighs in at 150 lbs – but glides anywhere smoothly with gorgeous five spoke locking iron caster wheels.
Desk workspace is hand crafted from aged solid white oak hardwood, with cool, deep gray steel details and supports. Makes an excellent computer or writing desk for any loft or apartment.
This versatile design can be tailored to suit your style. Mix and match walnut or mahogany desk workspace, alter the size, create a console table or kitchen island, remove the wheels, remove the drawers or add more, create a rust or polished chrome-like finish – the possibilities are endless.
More info or pictures available upon request. Lead-time for custom pieces is around 2-4 weeks.
This piece is priced at $1,350. Due to size and weight, desk ships freight. East coast shipping: $375. West coast: $300.
Details: Desk dimensions are 60″ x 24″ x 30″ tall. Drawers are 13.5″ wide and offer lots of storage space.
Tip: A more economical version of this piece costs about $895 and is 4′ x 24″ x 30″ without casters or drawers.
Up for sale, is this Flat Panel Stand / Stereo Stand with an African Mahogany top. Dimensions are 4′ x 20″ x 32″ tall and weight is about 180lbs. I am really happy with how it came out. The cabinet doors were slightly improved from the last design, and I went with a darker stain. Price is $1,250 + shipping, or pickup in Phoenix is free. Freight shipping to the West Coast is $280 and to the East Coast it’s $380. This is the first flat panel stand I’ve made that hasn’t been sold before it was finished. And I will have some different versions of this design available soon. (SOLD, BUT MAKING MORE)
This is the 3rd media console I’ve made for a customer. It has a walnut top with a lot of character. It looks like I’ll be making several more of these over the next month so get in line if you want one (I know I do)! Size is 4′ x 20″ x 32″ tall.
Here is another media console I just finished for a client. I changed a couple things from the first model I made which is different wood on the top (mahogany), and cast iron latches. Dimensions are 48″ x 17″ x 31.5″ tall which is a little more narrow than the other one I made. I do love how this came out with the minor changes. I HOPE to get enough time to make one for myself as I just sold the 3rd one which was going to be for me. Can’t keep em on the shelf!
Modeled after this industrial side table, this console table has a mahogany top with a vintage tung oil finish. It measures 36″ x 16.5″ x 30″ tall and was custom made for a client. It has a slightly rusted patina on the steel and has lots of rivets and bracing. Prices for this are around $575.
I had a new idea pop into my head the other day while I was at the movie theater. It’s similar to the Brooklyn table with the cross bracing, but I plan to use it for the legs of a table and possibly the entire frame. It’s pretty time consuming with all the welds and cuts, but I think the look will be well worth it. My first thought is to make a desk out of it but we’ll see. Right now I am backed up about a month with more orders on the horizon.
Looking for Antique Casters?
This page is not being updated, see my Antique Caster page for current pricing.
I keep getting calls about the caster wheels I use, people are asking where I get them. When I first started this business, I was doing the same thing which was trying to source old or antique caster wheels for my projects. I did find a couple on Ebay, but they were very expensive or not a full set. So I decided to buy new casters and distress them through various processes I discovered. And recently, I decided to start selling the casters I use on my furniture. My stock changes all the time, but I can get (or have) 4″, 5″, 6″, and 8″ casters.
——
I have a set of 5″ swivel casters for $180 + $20 shipping. They use a 3/4″ threaded stem, have upper and lower ball bearings, are rated to 300 lbs each, and are 6″ in total height. The wheels are made of cast iron and have a flat black paint job. The frame of the casters has a weathered patina with some light rust. These are brand new, just distressed by me. Below is a picture of the set and a desk that uses the same wheels. I stock these casters with brakes or locks. Feel free to contact me so I can check my stock here: Contact Form

Below is a set of heavy duty industrial 6″ cast iron caster wheels. The swiveling wheels are 2″ wide and are rated to 900 lbs each. They also have a weathered patina on the steel with small amounts of rust. These are brand new distressed casters. Weight is about 8 lbs each! Set of 4 is $160 + $30 shipping.
Below is a picture of a 6″ swiveling caster with brake ($45 each), 8″ rigid caster ($50 each), 4″ swiveling ($30 each), and a 6″ rigid caster ($35 each). All of these are heavy duty, and very heavy. My stock varies so contact me if you are interested. 602-322-1111, or use my Contact Form.

Vintage industrial 5 tier bookshelf on heavy duty 5″ cast iron caster wheels. This is the 3rd piece I’ve made in what I call the 308 Shelf. It measures 74″ tall x 12″ deep x 36″ wide. The shelves are made of solid 1.5″ thick African mahogany and have a vintage tung oil finish. The entire piece is aged to look mid-century and was inspired by the French industrial era. Priced at $995…
Theses cool tables were made for a department store sometime ago for display purposes. They sat in a box in the back and were never used so they are basically new. They do have some shelf wear with small bits of rust and some surface scuffing which adds to the look. Dimensions are 48″ x 24″ x 18″ tall which is the perfect coffee table. The style looks mid-century modern and they are made of steel with a thick glossy clearcoat. Priced at $495 + $30 shipping – 4 available. Call Greg at 602-322-1111 to purchase.
Here is the finished Console Table. I finished the wood slightly darker than the last table. The African Mahogany is finished with tung oil and I love how it came out. This table could also be a short bookshelf or you could add a shelf or two and make it a full size bookshelf. The 5″ casters make it easy to move around and are gentle on flooring. Dimensions are 4′ x 14″ x 30″ tall and it weighs in at 61lbs. Priced at $595. Shipping: West Coast $75, East Coast $100
I also snapped a picture without the top shelf added because it looks like it would make a nice bench or narrow coffee table.
I finally got my European hardware order and finished what I call the 308 Shelf. I got this idea from a piece Wisteria used to sell a few years back but made some changes to the design and came up with this side table. It’s the size of an end table, but would work as a small shelf or rolling cart. It has a vintage French Industrial feel to it. Dimensions are 14″ x 22″ x 23″ tall and it weighs 37lbs. The wood is solid 1.5″ thick African mahogany with a vintage stain on it and I think this hardwood is GORGEOUS. And the iron has a vintage galvanized patina. The 4″ casters have locks to hold it in place.
Priced at $450 in this size. Next I’ll be making a console table size at 4′ x 14″ x 30″ tall.
