Earlier this year, MGM designers came to us looking for some pieces to fill their restaurant. They used our designs and website as inspiration for the space, which was very flattering. Sim and I will be heading down there later this month to see the space in person and get some pictures. The restaurant opens in late September 2012 (Motorcity MGM Casino).
We ended up building several special I Beam bar height bases which have space for beer conduit running through the center up to the top. So partons will be able to serve themselves alcohol from the table top bar taps. And I Beams have a door so they can service the conduit in the interior.
They needed some storage and display too, so we built a couple Ellis sideboards with 308 shelving above. One of those will divide the private dining area from the restaurant and is wrapped in glass, with cutouts on the shelves for glass, LED lighting on top, and locking doors. It was a complicated piece that came out amazing. The pics don’t do it justice here.
They needed some seating to match, so we modified our Wright chair and added extra lumbar support for comfort.
Our client needed some architectural details to divide the space, so we built several of these custom lattice panels. The 14 panels contained a total of 4,500 rivets. It was a lot of work, but it was well worth it.
We have a ton of retail fixtures for sale right now that are 50% – 75% off!. These pieces have around 6 months of use in a clothing store that did a million dollar build out. The look was “mansion in disrepair” so they look elegant, vintage, with a touch of industrial. You will probably never find a more amazing collection of retail fixtures for sale! DCR (Dry Cleaning Rack) Table, 150″ x 36″ black top, solid cherry 2nd tier top, steel cubbies underneath 2nd tier, aged brass dry cleaning rack above that rotates. This unit weighs around 800 lbs and was the center showpiece for a million dollar clothing store. It’s aged from top to bottom and will hold a ton of merchandise. (5 baskets underneath are included)

Chandelier – I have 2 of these and I am keeping one for myself! These are the most amazing chandeliers I’ve ever seen. The crystals are huge and all unique, with the bottom ball weighing around 5 lbs. The aged look is truly stunning. I’ll have these in my shop in around 2-3 weeks.

I was going through all the Ellis consoles we’ve made. There’s been a lot of them! So I put together an album and slideshow with some of my favorites. We’ve built them as coffee tables, media consoles, point of sale stations for restaurants, hostess stands, side tables, night stands, dressers, filing cabinets, sideboards, as a hutch, kitchen island, and more. Seems to be our most versatile design. I’ll be adding more info as well as sizing and options. All of these are custom Ellis’s:

We started building vintage industrial inspired furniture in September of 2009. Since then, we’ve done work for Athleta, Ralph Lauren Home, Lamb and Flag, DIY network’s Man Caves show, The Moto Show, MGM, The Four Seasons, as well a numerous restaurants, corporate offices, hotels, and influential homes. You can expect a lot of new products from us as well as publicity in 2012.

308 Media Shelf – 84″ x 43″ x 18″ with space for a flat screen on the 3rd shelf
Ellis Media console – 7′ x 20″ x 18″ tall, has two doors and a center door with pipe legs
Industrial Toilet Paper Holder – Our shop needed one of these so I put this together. It’s definitely overbuilt, weighs around 10 lbs, and the Acme nuts keep the paper secure. The double holder will make sure you are never without a square again! – Price $225
Adjustable Height coffee table – 42″ x 42″ x 18-30″ tall, this heavy duty coffee table adjusts in height to double as a cafe or dining table. It has a 30″ square cutout in the center which will hold a piece of glass which allows you to see the workings of the design.
Below is an Edison bulb chandelier, with 10 sockets, we recently finished for a client, along with some 308 shelving for a retail clothing store.

The 308 shelf can also be made with gray aged wood (similar to barn wood or beach aged wood) which is my personal favorite. Here is one I just made for my wife. Dimensions are 56″ x 21″ x 74″ tall. I have a couple of these in stock, one 4′ wide and the other 3′.
